Delhi to Haridwar – Begin Your Spiritual Journey

Arrive in New Delhi, and embark on a scenic drive to Haridwar. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the evening, experience the spiritual Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri on the sacred banks of the River Ganges. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Haridwar.

Day 2

Journey to the Foothills of Yamunotri

Start your day with a scenic drive from Haridwar to Barkot, nestled at the foothills of the majestic Yamunotri. Along the way, marvel at the natural beauty of the Shivalik ranges, gushing rivers, and lush green valleys. Upon arrival in Barkot, check in to your hotel or camp. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, soaking in the serene atmosphere and preparing for the challenging Yamunotri trek the next day. Day 3

First Step of Char Dham Yatra!

After an early breakfast (or packed breakfast), depart around 5-6 AM for Hanumanchatti (40 km) and Janki Chatti (5 km). From here, begin your first Pahad Yatra – a 5 km trek to the sacred Yamunotri. For convenience, you can hire a Doli or horse (at an additional cost). The trek offers stunning views as you pass through lush green valleys, towering conifers, rhododendrons, cacti, and unique Himalayan shrubs. Yamunotri, located at an altitude of 3,291 meters, is the westernmost shrine of the Char Dham circuit, dominated by the majestic Banderpunch Peak (6,361 meters). This sacred site is the source of the Yamuna River, regarded as the sister of Yama, the Lord of Death, and the daughter of Surya, the Sun God. The river's origin is from the Champasar Glacier, just 1 km ahead of the temple at an elevation of 4,321 meters. Upon arrival at Yamunotri in the afternoon, take a holy dip in the Yamuna River and perform Pooja. Afterward, retrace your steps back to Barkot, where you’ll check in to your hotel or camp for a relaxing evening. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Barkot, reflecting on your spiritual journey.

Upon arrival, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges, known as Bhagirathi at its source. Visit the revered Gangotri Temple, an 18th-century structure dedicated to Goddess Ganga, located near the sacred stone where King Bhagirathi is said to have worshipped Lord Shiva. This exquisite temple, made of white granite and standing 20 feet tall, marks the spot where Ganga is believed to have descended to Earth. After performing Pooja and soaking in the spiritual atmosphere, begin your drive back to Uttarkashi in the late afternoon. Guptkashi, situated at an altitude of 1,319 meters in the majestic Himalayas, is known for its stunning views and proximity to revered pilgrimage sites, including Kedarnath. Spend the rest of the day exploring this charming town, which boasts attractions like the ancient Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the serene Mandakini River flowing nearby. Immerse yourself in the spiritual ambiance and natural beauty of Guptkashi. Enjoy dinner and a restful overnight stay in your Guptkashi hotel or camp, preparing for your next pilgrimage adventure.

Journey to the Holy Shrine of Kedarnath

After an early breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive to Sonprayag, the starting point for your 20 km trek to Kedarnath. You have the option to hire a Doli or horse for your trek (cost not included). As you make your way, you'll trek alongside the Mandakini River, one of the main tributaries of the Ganges, which originates at Kedarnath and flows through Gaurikund. Join fellow pilgrims as they chant "Jai Bholenath," creating a spiritual atmosphere. At times, the mist may envelop the mountains, gradually lifting to reveal the majestic, blinding-white peak of Kedarnath, an awe-inspiring sight that seems to touch the skies. Upon arrival, check in at the government camps or lodges, where basic accommodation is provided on a sharing basis. Dinner will be available directly at the camp. Enjoy a restful overnight stay, reflecting on your remarkable journey to this sacred shrine.

Rise early before dawn and take a refreshing bath before heading to the Kedarnath Temple by 4:45 AM for the sacred Abhishek of Lord Shiva. Pilgrims have the unique opportunity to enter the Garbha Griha and touch the idol, allowing for a personal connection with the divine. You may also prostrate before the deity, deepening your spiritual experience. After your darshan and puja, make your way back to the government camps or lodges. Later, begin your return trek of 20 km from Kedarnath to Sonprayag, accompanied by fellow pilgrims. Upon reaching Sonprayag, your vehicles will be waiting at the parking area to take you back to your hotel or camps in Guptkashi. Day 9

Journey to the Divine Abode of Lord Vishnu!

This morning, check out of your hotel and set off on a scenic drive to Badrinath via Joshimath. Enjoy the breathtaking views along the winding ghat roads as you approach Badrinath, ensuring to cross Govindghat before 5:30 PM. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to rest and refresh. In the evening, prepare for a visit to the sacred Badrinath Temple for darshan. Before entering the temple, make a stop at Tapt Kund, the famous hot spring, to take a rejuvenating bath. The Shri Badrinath Ji Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, stands 15 meters tall and is uniquely designed in the shape of a cone, topped with a gilded bull and spire. In the afternoon, drive back to Rudraprayag via Karanprayag, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the way. Rudraprayag, a quaint pilgrim town, is located at the sacred confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, making it a significant spiritual hub.
