Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 6 crushed cardamom pods
  • 1 or 2 vanilla beans
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
  • 1 cup coconut, rice, soy, or hemp milk
  • 3 tablespoons cacao nibs

Instructions

  1. Boil water, cardamom, vanilla, cinnamon, and fennel seeds for 5 minutes.
  2. Let it stand for 5 more minutes.
  3. Stir in coconut milk and cacao nibs.
  4. Strain the chai and serve.

    Substitute almond milk for coconut milk.
